- I totally see the benefits of global trade. I cannot imagine what our world might be like now if those exchanges had not happened.

- Trade in Africa was very beneficial. By trading goods such as ivory and gold, they expanded their wealth.
- The Portuguese settled along the coast so that they could trade with Africa. As they did this, the took over many Persian and Arab settlements so that they could mine minerals. Doing this developed a slave trade.
- All of this severely impacted African countries. They could no longer control their imports and exports, and they only received small amounts of money from Europe, if any at all.
