- I'm going to the shops to buy my summer clothes for the year.
- You do realize that you are making the fashion waste problem even worse
- Huh? What is fashion waste?
- Fashion waste is a global problem that everyone needs to take responsibility of. Fashion waste is the clotheing we put to waste, or throw away.
- Why is it so important?
- It is important because globally, we produce 13 million tons of textile waste each year! Some fabrics such as Lycra can take up to 100 years to break down, and when they do harmful gases are released into the air.
- What can I do about it?
- Well, 95% of the global fashion waste could of been recycled. The best way you and others can help is by recycling your old clothes into something that you would wear now, and buy second hand clothes......
- What would happen if I didn't help, one more dress wouldn't hurt.....
- .....But, if we don't help this problem, then the earth would be very polluted. So will the air and the soil. We won't be able to live with our surroundings badly polluted for long.
- Maybe I should help then. I don't want the earth to die.
- You can make a difference.
