- Erikson's first stage is Infancy, where an infant learns of trust vs. mistrust. If an infant recieves consistent and constant care including feeding, hygiene, and comfort, they will learn to trust those around them. For example, Percy's mom is providing him with food as he cries, teaching him trust. If an infant does not recieve consistent care, they will have difficulty trusting others in their future.
- Erikson's sixth stage is young adulthood, where one learns intimacy vs. isolation. If successful, one will learn how to make commitments to others and form intimate relationships. For example, in this scene, Percy is aking an intimate question, forming an intimate relationship. If unsuccessful in this stage, one may develop a fear of making commitments to others.
- In Erikson's eighth and final stage, one goes learns ego integrity vs. despair. They go through their key life events and either feel content or disappointed, as shown above. If the review is satisfactory, they will feel a sense of satisfaction and pleasure. If the review is not, they will feel a sense of regret and dissapointment.
