- The main conflict corresponds to the band of thieves attempting to steal money from Jonthan in the middle of the night, and the fact that this became a routine for the Iwegbu family.

- The title of the story is Civil Peace and the story is full with post-war hardships; some thieves steal from him, nevertheless he keeps a positive outlook.
