  • Media can be extremely harmful to people's self-esteem. Nancy saw an edited picture on Instagram, she now thinks that the model's body is achievable. The model only eats 1,300 calories a day and is very unhealthy. The media influences people to try unhealthy diets every day. This is a very serious issue and can lead to eating disorders, issues with body image and even death. Understanding that social media is very unrealistic is important so these issues can be addressed and avoided.
