- In 1836 after a year-long battle, Texas surprise attacked Mexico at their camp while sleeping, allowing Texas to capture and defeat their troops. Texas further gained independence, and a large amount of land back.

- Despite Texas's severe amount of Debt, Texas was accepted into the US as a former slave state in 1845
- After the USA was annexed into slave and free states, many people revolted starting tension in both the north and south. Once Lincon was elected as president, many slave states knew he would take away slavery, and made their own country, the confederacy. A long 4 year battle from 1861 to 1865 occurred but the north ended up winning, abolishing all former slavery and freeing all slaves
- In the year 1900, a deadly hurricane struck Galveston, the most expensive and built city. Cubans tried to warn us citizens, but new weather agencies predicted it would hit Florida. This deadly disaster swept Galveston, flooding it, and killing an estimated 6,000 to 8,000

- US troops were sent to help defeat Germany after a telegram sent to Mexico was intercepted, in which Germany assured Mexico they'd help get US land back. Recorded to be one of the biggest battles in history, it lasted from 1939-to 1945.
- The JFK shooting occurred in Dallas, where 3-4 shots were fired. Many people believe Oswalt, who was later arrested, shot alone on the 6th floor, but others believe this was a second shooter. About 45 minutes after the attack, JFK was reported dead and was the youngest president to ever die.
