- Lennie is in the barn originally there seeing his puppy while the other men are out competing in a horseshoe tournament . After accidentally killing his pup, Curley's wife walks in and sits down to talk to him. Though forbidden by George,Lennie and curly's wife talk and she offers for him to touch her hair. Eventually she becomes uncomfortable and asked him to stop though Lennie, who was fixating on her hair, did not listen.
- The situation escalates as Lennies goes not let go and begins to get scared. she calls out for help and in a panic lennie tries to quiet her by covering her mouth. This angers Lennie and he becomes more aggressive eventually snapping her neck and leaving lennie to deal with a new situation.
- immediately after Lennie had kill Curly's wife he fells guilty and was not sure what to do so naturally he just ran. Curly's wife's body is left in the barn. Lennie goes to hide in the brush he and George had slept near before they started their job at the ranch.
- after a few hours with Lennie has long gone candy walks in. unsuspecting he finds Curley's wife's corpse in the hay on the barn floor. He suspects it was Lennie's doing when he finds his dead puppy and his hat laying alongside her. Conflicting on what to do he goes to find George to question him and confirm his suspicions.
- Candy find george and explains the situation to him. Both knowing The men are going to want to kill lennie they seperate. George going to steal carlsons lugar while candy goes back to the group. after awhile candy rushes out yelling saying he found curly's wife in the barn dead. Everyone gets worked up and the men start looking for Lennie
- With everyone out to kill him, Lennie runs to the brush to wait for George to come and find him. Feeling guilty Lennie waits for George to show up and give him guidance. George shows up with a lugar and comforts him. Lennie, still compleatly oblivious is abuptly cut off with a shot in the back of his head from george
