  • Hi everyone , my name is Frank. I'm going to show you how to use good body mechanics at your workplace
  • When lifting boxes, you can hurt your back. You must use good body mechanics
  • First step: Come close to the object you want to lift. This prevents you from straining your back
  • DON'T USE YOUR BACK
  • Second Step: Bend at the knees when lifting the box from the ground.
  • By doing this, you are using your leg muscle to help take the weight of the box and not your back.
  • Your back will thank you for it!!Thanks Frank for using your legs
  • Third Step: hold the box up with your arms and lift with your legs straight up in a standing position.
  • Make sure the box is light enough for you to carry and that you can see where you are going 
  • USE YOUR LEG MUSCLES
  • If the box is to heavy for you to lift by yourself. Get another person who can help you. I need help!!!
  • Hey Frank, It looks like that box is heavy. I'll help you lift it.
  • Having good body mechanics in the workplace can prevent you from injury.
