- 1920 Rai Bhadur Daya Ram Sahni discovered the ruins of Harappa, in a small village in the Montogomery district of Punjap present day Pakistan.
- This is the Indus river which did a major role in the Harappan civilisation, and it was the only source for agriculture and food.
- In Mohenjo-daro, the largest building was the granary. The granaries were used for storing surplus grains.
- The cities of Indus Valley were well-planned. Many cities were divided into two parts-upper town and lower town.
- The drainage system of the Harappan cities was one of the best in ancient times. Drains were constructed on either side of the road.
