- Newton's first law of motion states that if a body is at rest or moving in a straight line, then it will stay at rest or keep moving. Unless there is an external force included
- So shouldn't the ball keep going up and not in the hoop if missed
- The external force such as gravity and friction puts the body at rest which stops the ball from flying forever. But at this time the hoop stopped it from going forever

- Now if you see when you kick the ball just like while playing basketball the net stops the ball from going forever but we should understand that even if you miss it friction and gravity stops making it happen
