- Alfredo got the chance to speak with Esperanza again as she was narrating something about Calixta and their note-carrier. The conversation went on and he was only half-listening. Calixta’s situation that Esperanza has brought up, formed guilt inside alfredo that aroused to them fighting over a stance.
- Despite the storms, they proceeded with their wedding and quite a long time after, Alfredo found his way again back to the lake town where Julia’s home is located. He must not be disturbed but he was. He was not unhappy with his marriage but perhaps, nothing seems to be going on. He kept himself out of Esperanza’s reach at the same time he tries to be tender and gentle during the times she feels baffled and helpless. The thought of him and Julia being married came across his mind, the possibilities of everything if that happened, and if he ever came across Julia’s mind the same way she does to him.
