- Mary Warrens gives the poppet that she made during the court as a gift to Elizabeth Proctor.

- Later that night Hale comes to talk to Elizabeth and john proctor about how Elizabeths name was spoken in court about of her being a witch. He goes to talk to them to ask questions about why doesn’t he got to church no more or even why is there last child not baptized.Hale also asks them to recite the Ten Commandments. Which John forgot one of his commandments.
- "It was just for safe keeping sir"
- Soon Cheever and Marshal Herricks go to proctors house to arrest Elizabeth, Cheever discovers the poppet that Mary Warren made for Elizabeth, and he finds a needle inside the poppet. Mary Warrens tries to explain that the needle was just for safe keeping, and that Abigail saw her putting it inside the poppet. Cheever tells Proctor and Hale that Abigail has charged Elizabeth with attempted murder.
- Cheever and Herricks arrest Elizabeth and take her with the others that were accused of witch craft.
- By this time Elizabeth had no proof or even tried to back herself about how she wasn’t and witch. She was found guilty and sentenced to death. Since Elizabeth was pregnant her execution was postponed until after she gave birth.
