- Battle of Trenton George Washington led his troops over the Delware River on Christmas Eve to face Heisman, or headless horsemen, hired by the British. The Patriots won with only 5 patriots killed while 900 Heisman were killed. This was Washingtons first victory and gave them hope.

- Battle of Camden General Gates had thought he had twice as many men as he actually had for this war. Over half of them ended up sick with dysentery from bad food. Out of 4100 Colonial Army Troops only 700 of them survived and were able to retreat back to safety. The British won and Colonial forces had to rebuild their Southern Army.

- Battle of Kings Mountain Patriot troops from Virginia and North Carolina combine at Kings Mountain where they are met by Ferguson and his South Carolinian Loyalists. The combined Patriot troops and location in which the war took place made it easy for the Patriots to take victory. Some of the British soilders tried to surrneder but were slaughtered in cold blood because of the Patriots were bitter over British presence in the Carolinas.
