  • Hey Mr. B! I was looking through the curriculum and we are getting close to the animal research project! How have you taught that in the past?
  • Oh, I do the same thing every year. I introduce the project by reading a paper from last year, then I take students to the library and have them grab a few books on an animal they've heard of, give them a graphic organizer, and have them write the paper while I talk about the writing process.

  • What!? You don't use technology during the process?
  • No, that's too complicated. Plue, they'll learn more in books and by listening to me.
  • You definitely have a lot of knowledge about writing research reports, but I'd like to help you with some other areas like technology and pedogogy!

  • There are so many opportunities to use student choice within and technology within this project! We can use all of the TPACK components!

  • TPACK is a framework that shows how content knowledge, methods of teaching and learning, and technology are all intertwined! Those are the 3 key focuses and they overlap in important ways!
