  • Later, Hazel was put on medication to decrease the pain. She started to tear up until the nurse asked her what was wrong. ‘ We were supposed to go to luxor and Aswan tomorrow, but today I fell down the stairs and now my arm hurts so much ,and to add insult to injury , our car crashed on the way here. I was really looking forward to this trip...’ the doctor then responded,’ well maybe it’s a blessing in disguise and you just don’t recognize it, and now that I’m done with the cast I can assure you that you’ll be alright. You can go to luxor and Aswan but don’t let any water get on the cast'. Hazel thanked the nurse and they all went home.
  • The next day, Hazel and her family had arrived to Luxor beach. The water droplets that ride on an invisible carpet through the air filled Hazel with a feeling of freedom. You can almost feel the waves and mermaids giggle to you on the breeze itself if you let your mind dance freely. Hazel admired the beach. Hazel worshipped the beach. She was green with envy seeing her friends and family enjoying the water while she had to sit behind the umbrella at a loose end. Suddenly, she stood. Hazel ran into the ocean, her steps became slower every time she gets deeper until she can’t feel the sand anymore. She plays with her friends seeing who can get deeper first. Time was ticking. Hazel’s leg felt light, so she touched her leg to find the unwanted…
  • i wish i can play in the water like the others
  • Shock. Fear. Hazel’s cast wasn’t on her leg. She looked everywhere but found nothing. She couldn’t even see land. It’s like the weight of the whole world was on her shoulder, when she found out that they are lost in the middle of nowhere. She had to get all her friends together so they wouldn’t get lost from each other. Drastic times call for drastic measures. Luckily, a tiny ship came into view echoing each of their names. “Hazel! Mathew! Lana! Sarah!” said the person on the ship.Hazel then called “we’re here!!” her parents must have told this man to search for them. Hazel sighed in relief while all the other kids were slightly disappointed that they’re going back. Everyone entered the ship to the way to shore. When they returned the parents made sure everyone is alright. They were mad. On the returning to their suite, they gave their children the cold shoulder.
