- Once the mighty god Apollo now a teenage mortal named Lester Papadopoulos. Apollo was turned into a mortal by Zeus because one of Apollo's kids almost ended the world. Apollo was stripped of all his godly power and is now a regular mortal.

- Apollo met Meg after Zeus kicked him out of Olympus. This was Apollos third time becoming a mortal. He knows that someone can claim to be Apollos master and he has to do whatever they say. Apollo tells Meg this and she becomes his master. In the last book Apollo and Meg got the quest to free all the Oracles. The freed the first Oracle by fighting an evil emperor named Nero and freed the Oracle called the Grove of Dodona. Now they have to find the second Oracle called the Cave of Trophonius but this time they are not alone they are with their friends Leo and Calypso.
- When Apollo, Meg, Leo, and Calypso got to Indianapolis they were met by monsters called blemmyae that were attacking them. They fought but there were too many and the monsters surrounded them. At the last second they were saved by Josephine and Hemithea former Hunters of Artemis. They brought them to the Waystation a secret base where they helped demigods. They all talked about their problems and tried to find out who was holding the Oracle hostage.
- "We need to get off the street. Come I'll take you to the Waystation"(pg. 31)
- They find out the the evil Roman Emperor that is the holding the Oracle hostage is named Commodus. They go to Commodus's palace to get a chair that you must be seated on to receive the prophecy. When they were getting the chair they found prisoners. One was Josephine and Hemitheas kid named Georgina. They met Commodus and they fight him but luckily they have back up when all seems lost the Hunters of Artemis come are rescue them. They all return back to the Waystation with everything they need but a prophecy.
- Meg and Apollo find the Cave of Trophonius. They have to drink from two streams and then they entered the cave. They fell into a big body of water but survive the fall. They fought a pond of snakes and bet them. They then received the prophecy! Apollo and Meg fought their way out of the cave and head back to the Waystation.
- "The words that memory wrought are set to fire,Ere new moon rises o'er the Devil's Mount.The changeling lord shall face a challenge dire,Till bodies fill the Tiber beyond count.Yet southward must the sun now trace its course,Through mazes dark to lands of scorching deathTo find the master of the swift white horseAnd wrest from him the crossword speaker's breath.To westward palace must the Lester go;Demeter's daughter finds her ancient roots.The cloven guide alone the way does know,To walk the path in thine own enemy's boots.When three are known and Tiber reached alive,'Tis only then Apollo starts to jive."(378-379)
- Left: At the same time Meg and Apollo were receiving their prophecy there friends were defending the Waystation from an attack by Commodus. Their friends won the battle but the only person that got through their defenses was Commodus himself. Apollo and Meg arrived back at the Waystation just in time to find Commodus fighting their friends. Apollo had a burst of godly strength and made Commodus leave. Right: At the end of the book Apollo receives his next quest from the prophecy which is to free the next Oracle.
