- My accusers have spoken very badly about me and that is affecting this trial as we speak.
- I am not a Sophist because I do not require money for my teachings. I only have human wisdom and real knowledge doesn't truly exist in this world.
- I was forced to help these men understand their own ignorance. This is when I realized that human wisdom is worthless compared to true knowledge, which we will never have.
- I have spoken with many people, who were considered wise and knowledgeable, in my travels.
- Many of them knew things I did not previously know. However, after speaking with each of them, it is clear they are not truly knowledgeable and depend on their wisdom far too much.
- If I am trying to make one of my associates wicked, it is clearly unwillingly since that associate would simply be a threat to me. Therefore, you should be teaching me to improve my ways instead of attempting to execute me.
- Meletus, who do you believe is improving the youth if I am not?
- We all are, everyone except you Socrates!
- ??Then I clearly believe in gods which you keep trying to contradict.
- And are spirits not gods, or at least not the spirits of gods?
- Yes, technically they are
- You also do not teach about god, but instead teach children of other spiritual beings
- The jury and Meletus should know that I will not beg for innocence nor will I ask for people to testify.
- Socrates, you are deemed guilty in this court.
- I believe he should be executed for his crimes!
- You will come to regret this eventually, for you have only accomplished the task of killing an old wise man.
- For punishment, I believe I should be rewarded for aiding so many children and adults in knowledge. Or at least allow me to pay a fine(which my allies will pay for).
- Socrates I don't think that is how this works. Anyways, we sentence you to death Socrates.
