  • There have been rumors in Sarah's school that a student has a weapon and the principal is checking random kids'backpacks. He searched Sarah's backpack and she is confused why he is searching her backpack because she has not done anything wrong.
  • (2) Hey! I don't think you are allowed to do that. I learned that the 4th amendment of the Bill of Rights in the constitution doesn't allow unreasonable searches for no reason.
  • (4) With my consent, you can empty my bag to see I am innocent.
  • (1) Have you heard about the rumors that a student in your class might have a weapon with them and I am searching your bag because I want to.
  • (3) You are half right because I cannot search the content of your phone, but I am able to search your backpack if I believe that there is a possible danger to other students.
  • (5) You are innocent.
  • As a grown-up, Sarah is concerned about a problem with firearms in her community. So she calls a representative from her region and tells the man(the representative) that she wants to make a change to firearms. The man then says that he will try his best to alert Congress make a change to her problem.
  • (1) There have been some problems with firearms in the district and I want the Members of The House of Representatives from my district to make some limitations towards firearms.
  • (2) I will report to Congress and tell them about your concern.
  • The national government has three branches. The three branches are legislative, judicial, and executive. The constitution sets up a system of checks and balances to ensure that no branch has more power than the other. Sarah has been nominated to The House of Representatives for the Cary district. A girl then asks her about what all of these systems of government are.

  • (5) Also, checks and balances in a system in government where the power between 3 branches, the Legislative, Judicial, and Executive is split so that one branch does not over power the other 2 branches, creating a separation of powers, leading to cooperation for many tasks.
