- Emperor Shin Huangdi would rise to power in the duration of the warring states period. He would engage in conquest against other states in his upsurge.
- One of the biggest factors that led Shi Huangdi to success in these warfare's were the inventions of crossbows. Once created, His soldiers would use these effectively in battle, overpowering the opposing side.

- With this, Emperor Shi Huangdi would come to power as emperor of China and unite all the states under one using a form of Legalism to exert control. This would be the start of the Qin Dynasty.
- However, Shi Huangdi's tyrannical rule forced millions to work on the great wall of China. While this was an extreme achievement, over 400 thousand workers died in this endeavor- many being prisoners buried within the wall.
- Not only that, Shi Huangdi felt threatened by the influence of scholar books discussing past rulership, so he put an order to burn all books except for those containing necessary information. Many scholars were enraged and resisted, but were killed as a result.
- Finally, in an attempt to immortalize himself, Shi Huangdi consumed large amounts of mercury. This, would lead to his demise as he fell ill and eventually died from it. Buried alongside his mistresses and 3,000 soldiers statues, Shi Huangdi was buried underground. His heirs would fight for the throne and throw the Qin dynasty in chaos, causing its downfall and the rise of the Han.
