- Where is the slide on the Zapatistas politics?
- This is the slide! The Zapatistas reject political classification. They simply want the people to hold equal power.
- The Zapatistas do not see themselves as anarchists. They wish to keep their native culture, educate their young, and provide for the poorest in the community.
- Many people describe the Zapatista ideology as close to libertarian socialism. Some even say it is super left, or anarchist.
- Indeed! Zapatistas however do not conform to any specific political party left or right! Decisions are made by a council of the people and Zapatistas all own the land and share their goods. Their communities are poor but people rarely starve.
- The government controls the land and goods. Many of the ideals sound politically left.
- So the Zapatistas share resources and found a way to create jobs and schools that the government wouldn't provide to them. The Zapatistas are amazing!
- Yes the Zapatistas fight for the human rights of everyone! Viva el EZLN!
