  • Malvolio is locked in a dark room and often considered a lunatic. No matter how many times he begs the Clown (Feste) to release him, the Clown refuses.

  • Malvolio continues to plead that he is not insane. Finally the Clown is convinced to bring Malvolio a candle, pen, ink, and paper so that he can write to his lady proof of his mental health.
  • Sebastian is wandering around in Olivia’s garden, breathing the fresh air, thinking about everything that suddenly happened to him, the pearl Olivia gave him. He wanted to get advice from Antonio but Antonio wasn’t at the Elephant.
  • While Sebastian was thinking, Olivia entered with the priest. Olivia tells Sebastian that if he means well that he should go with her and the priest into the chapel. Sebastian agrees and the Priest leads the way.
  • I will follow this generous man and go with you.
