  • Right in the heart of New York City in modern day time...
  • This city is full of chaos! I'm gonna be late for work! Could this Uber or whatever it's called get here any faster?!
  • Edgar sees his Uber turning around the corner. As he gets ready, he notices the lady driving the car. He couldn't figure out why she looked so familiar.
  • I wanted to know who she was and what her name is. Her face seems oddly familiar for some reason.
  • Excuse me ma'am, do I know you? Your face reminds me of somebody, what's your name?
  • I'm not sure if I know you sir, but I prefer not to say, I used to get bullied as a kid because of my name. Now, I go by Leona, I feel like it suits me better.
  • Alrighty then Miss Leona. If you don't mind me asking, what do you do for a living?
  • I'm a writer for the city's newspaper. I enjoy journaling and writing small books. My parents are huge book worms hence why I do what I do!
  • Oh how lovely to hear! I also write stories. What kind of books did your parents read?
  • Well, there's this writer and poet that they both grew up loving, his name is Edgar Allan Poe. All they ever read were books and stories by him!
  • My husband Edward, he loved Poe. I always thought that his name was close enough to be Edgar if you ask me. He was the love of my life, and it all went away. I'll never forget that day. I miss him so much, there's not a day where he's not on my mind.
  • I'm so very sorry to hear. It's hard, I know what it feels like to lose someone too. I lost my loved one a while ago, but it still feels like yesterday. She meant everything to me. She was the only thing that brought light into my life. I loved her name because it was unique and something I've never heard of. Her name was Lenore. You kind of remind me of her with your sweet, gentle smile and blue eyes.
  • In fact, one of his poems is dedicated to just Lenore. It's called The Raven, which you've probably heard of. Poe is mourning the loss of his love hoping that he will one day see her again in Heaven. He gets a surprise visit from a talking raven named Nevermore and repeats itself with the word Nevermore. The raven represents Poe's grief, as he will never move on from the loss of Lenore putting him in a permanent state of mourning and sadness.
