  • The stairs to the registry room. The immigrants walked up the stairs to get to the next room. The reason it is important because people would watch them walk and if they had trouble walking then they would get chalked.
  • The registry room. The immigrants would wait in the room to get checked for medical exams and other things. The reason that it is important because this is where they waited for hours or days to get through Ellis Island.
  • The medical exam. The immigrants would get checked to see if they had a any problems with them. The reason that it is important because if they were sick they could get sent back home, or be hospitalized until you got better.
