  • The Inca were one of many small states occupying the urubamba valley, high in Andes mountains of present day Pera. The Inca empire streached 2,000 miles and they were also well orginized.

They served religious and cerimonal purposes. They mostly relied on mostly hunting and gathering , but they also tamed wild plants and farmed crops such as barly.
  • The Algonquin and Iroquios dominated the woodlands of the Northeast. The woodlands provided wood, plants, and animals, but they could not support enough farming to sustain large cities. tey developed a more formal political structure.
