- Justin joins new school (Waterford academy) and meets fellow new person Zac on the school bus. the audience are also introduced to the characters such as will, Jay and Merv. this scene will include naturalistic lighting and will incude camera shots such as close-ups, wide-angle shots, and over the shoulder shots to show the main character engaging with the new people

- audience are introduced to Louisa who sits next to Justin in class. teacher Mr Saunders announces battle of the bands music competition where the winner wins a record deal. this scene will contain a wide-angle shot to show the whole class and contain naturalistic lighting.

- Justin and zac realize their enjoyment for music. furthermore they recognize they have to create a band for them to enter and potentially win. however popular kid merv has already entered his band and his arrogance tries to intimidate Justin and Zac. this scene will contain group shots and low angle shots to show the intimidation of Merv.
- new equilibrium
- to create their band, Justin and zac host auditions to put a band together. however, only 2 people turn up will (drummer) and Jay (bass player). in this scene, there will be low-angle and high-angle shots. there will also be medium shots of them on stage. also there will be dark lighting with spotlights to replicate a theatre.
- In the end, a band is formed and they give themselves a name 'the outsiders'. this scene will feature low angle shots and also have the light focussed on them like a spotlight.
- the band enters themselves into the competition and there is a mixed reaction from everyone. However, their band is determined to win and do the unexpected. this scene will contain close-ups and medium shots. the lighting will also be naturalistic.
