- Once upon a time, Hansel and Gretel lived with their father, a woodcutter, and their wicked stepmother. They lived in a little cottage on the edge of a huge forest.

- they were very poor and often there wasn't enough food for their whole family to eatOne day, Hansel and Gretel overheard their stepmotherstepmother: We'll take the kids to the forest and leave them there so there's more food for us. Their father said no, but their stepmother said they would all starve if they didn't do it. The evil stepmother constantly reminded him about this until he agreed.Hansel and Gretel felt very sad when they went to sleep that night.Hansel: “don't worry, I know what to do.

- as soon as the adults were asleep, Hansel and Gretel crept outside. The moon was shining so brightly that the white pebbles in the grass glittered like silver coins. Hansel filled his pockets until they were full of tiny white pebbles.

- the next morning before dawn their stepmother woke them up.Stepmother: “get up u lazy bones! We're going to fetch some wood.”Soon the family set off walking into the forest.Hansel walked slowly behind the others, dropping tiny white pebbles on the path without them noticing.They reached the middle of the forest at midday and their mother and father used some of the wood they had collected to make a fire.
- Father:” you rest here while we get more firewood”Hansel and Gretel waited for a long time, however their parents still haven't come back.Hansel: We should head back home by following the trail of white pebbles that I made.”
- after a few hours of walking back Hansel and Gretel finally came home. And their stepmother was very shocked to see them at home thinking that they will never come back.
