As young girls, Nora and I had plans for a grand adventure we would take together. Our parents were a little unsure about letting us (12 and 15 years old as the time) go on a 120 mile bike-packing trip alone in Northern Minnesota.
And so three years after our initial idea of biking the entirety of the Paul Bunyan trail, we decided to do it before Nora would be headed back to New York.
camp in Hackensack
don't forget a tarp
start at 10am in Brainerd
lunch in Nisswa
Soon enough we were embarking on a trip we had talked about for nearly three years. We said goodbye to our parents who would pick us up the following day in Bemidji. Nothing could go wrong.
The start of our grand adventure!
Paul Bunyan Trail
60 miles and 10 hours later in Hackesnack, MN.
It's only 7pm and every single restaurant is closed?
I see some people at a gas station up the road, maybe they have food.
This is crazy, even the grocery store is closed. What are we going to eat?
At least they had lunchables
should we start biking to our campsite?
yes, before the sun completely sets
And chaco tacos!
nothing more could go wrong.
I am happy we got everything set up before the sun set
