This story is inspired by the poem "The Ballad Of Rum" by Peter R Wolverine. This story starts off by a dog that wandered into a family's garden, they took him in and then called him Rum. The family decided to give rum a job to guard the yard.
As the family decided to give the dog the job as guard dog they found out that Rum isn't very good at his job. What rum could do is bark at the animals around him and he loved people. The family's neighbors fed Rum a lot, so much he started looking a little fat.
Rum was guarding the house like he usually does and that night a burglar decided to come in. No alarms or anything seemed to go off that night. Rum got exceeded and thought that the burglar would be a new friend.
Just as the burglar was ruining off and jumped the gate. Rum didn't jump the gate with the thief instead he picked up the burglar's wallet. After that he went back to sleep.
The next morning the family had discovered the wallet that happens to be some evidence that could help the family gather their belongings.
The family quickly brought the evidence to the police. This made it easy for the police to capture the Thief. The town quickly came to know this knowledge and Rum became a hero, the end.
