  • Oh! Hopefully I would still look good after this
  • Give it to me quick
  • Twenty Dollars
  • What beautiful hair!
  • Fob Chains
  • With this, Jim would be anxious about the time in any company. I really hope Jim likes his gift.
  • Wow! Time has flown by so fast! I have to find the perfect gift for Jim.

  • Wow, this platinum fob chain for Jim's watch is so nice. I shall buy it for him. It is $21, perfect.
  • What a wonderful gift I have got Jim!
  • Before he takes a second look at me, he’ll say I look like a Coney Island chorus girl. But what could I do—oh! what could I do with a dollar and eighty–seven cents?
  • Jim should still like me, I still am the same. It is just my hair. He did not just love me because of my hair.
  • If Jim doesn’t kill me, oh.
  • Della needed to buy Jim a gift, but with 1 dollar and eighty-seven cents, she couldn't buy anything. She decieded to sell her hair. To sell her long hair, Della went to Madame Sofronie. Madame Sofronie offered her some money in exchange for Della's hair.
  • You'll know why I was looking at you like that after you see my present.
  • What! Della has cut off her hair!
  • Jim, dear, don't look at me that way
  • Please god, make him think I still am pretty
  • Now with 21 dollars and 87 cents, Della set to buy a gift for Jim. Della searched the entire store, and time flew by very fast. Until, she found the perfect gift. A platinum fob chain for Jim's watch. Della paid $21 and bought it.
  • Add speech
  • Now see what I got you. give me your watch. I bought this platinum fob chain for your watch.
  • Combs! Oh Jim, dear, they're so beautiful. My hair grows so fast, don't worry.
  • Della reached home, and was very happy, but as she was looking at the pier glass, she got into thinking, while also preparing to cook the chops.
  • When Jim came home, he stared at Della with an expression Della did not know.
  • I couldn't have lived through Christmas without buying you a present, so I sold it for money.
  • Jim and Della exchange presents. The presents are now useless to them.
  • Della, well, I sold my watch to buy your combs. Let's just keep our presents aside and eat, I'm hungry.
  • The magi were wise men who had brought gifts to Jesus Christ when he was born. They brought gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. They had a selfish motive behind them, however. They wanted to seek Jesus' blessings. Jim and Della had bought their gifts out of love. This love made them sacrifice their most prized possessions just for each other. They were considered wiser than the magi.
