  • KING RICHARD I OF ENGLAND
  • The Seljuk Turks established a new Muslim dynasty in the 11th dynasty. The Seljuks annexed Syria and Palestine from Fatimid dynasty and captured a part of Anatolia(Asia minor).
  • LATER CRUSADES
  • Thirty thousand crusaders fought towards south Palestine with the victory of the crusaders. Victorious crusaders captured Jerusalem with the massacared Muslims and Jews .
  • CHILDREN'S CRUSADES
  • In 1144 Edessa the norhtern most kingdom of crusaders was defeated. Leading to the second crusades. The Seljuk Turks won over the crusades in both of the attacks by Germany and France.
  • THE RECONQUISTA
  • Salah-al-din or Saladin formed the largest empire since the Seljuks, and led an attack on Jerusalem . But at the end a treaty was signed between Saladin and King Richard The first.
  • QUEEN ISABELLA AND KING FERDINAND
  • Also called Richard the lionheart fought a battle with Salah-al-din. He forced the Palestinian city of Acre to surrender. He killed 2700 Muslim prisoners and signed a peace treaty stating that Christian pilgrims can enter Jerusalem.
  • Later Crusades continued for the next 100 years but none of them were successful in caper ting Jerusalem but the Muslims kept on regaining their lands. In 1281 Acre the last city of the crusaders was taken back. Later many Movements took place.
  • In 1212 children of poor Christian pheasants marched through the roads of Germany and France to the holy land But some of them only reached the holy land some of them either returned home or were soled to slavery.
  • The attacks launched at the Iberian Peninsula to take the land from Muslims. The Umayyads has cities like & Toledo the main city. The Christians captured Toledo. From where Muslims started to loose lands by 1248 Granada was the only Muslim kingdom left .

  • In 1492 Granada the last Muslim kingdom fell to the monarch becoming a Catholic kingdom.170000 Jews left the kingdom forever because of the rule become a Christian or leave the country.

  • Meaning:A judicial body established by the Catholic Church. The Spanish Inquisition was very harsh. To check out that converts aren't following old religion. Thousands of people were even burned at the stake.
  • The impact on Christians were positive as the Christians got to trade with the Muslims. But the Christian lands they ruled were taxed heavily. On the bright side they learned new cultures and food from the Middle East.
  • As a group the crusades were more benefitted. The muslims Started to build standing armies. And learned about weapons. They traded with the Christian traders. But lost land in Iberian peninsula. But defeated the crusades when they banded together.
  • The Jews were discriminated very badly. Their homes were raided, their holy books were burnt, their SYNAGOGUE were destroyed they were segregated to the whole Europe and what not did the Crusades didn't do to them. But it was also continued after the crusades.
