- I am Mrs. Reed, mother of Eliza, John, and Georgina.
- You are as cruel and as wicked as a Roman emperor!
- You ignorant, impish, impoverished orphan!
- Mother! That insolent orphan Jane struck me!
- Off to the Red Room with you!
- I see a spectre–a spectre! 'Tis none but old Uncle Reed! Pray extricate my poor soul from this accursed room!
- Jane, I have decided to allow you to attend Lowood School. May you be cleansed of your ungodly ways!
- Good-bye and good riddance, Ms Reed!
- A pleasure to have your acquaintance, Ms Eyre.
