- The French and the Native Americans team up to trade fur for guns and to drive the advancing British OUT of the Ohio River Valley. Both the Natives and the French rely on the fur trade in this area and on both the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers for travel transportaion and trade.
- Pennsylvania settlers had stormed into Indian territory and burned villages to the ground in order to gain access to their native lands for farming purposes. In the process, several native children were killed. Here, the natives are taking Mary Jemison and other village children and claiming them as their own to replace their killed native sons.
- Mary is adopted by two Seneca Indian women and raised in the Senaca ways and traditions. She remained with the Seneca trive for 78 years where she married two different chiefs and had many children.
