  • On-To Ottawa Trek Explained...
  • Chill broski, we get paid enough to get by, they feed us what we need to get through with life.
  • In April 1935, about 1,500 residents of federal Unemployment Relief Camps in British Columbia went on strike. The Great Depression has been a struggle for many and most, those who couldn't find jobs were sent to Relief Camps where they were paid $0.20 and worked hard enough to be sick in there living conditions.
  • This camp sucks. We get paid a penny a day and we get treated like crap when we do all the work
  • At this point, almost all of the camp workers realized that they should start a revolution by swarming the streets of Ottawa by using a method of transportation named "Riding the Rails", when people climb unto moving trains then get off before they reach the station so that they don't get caught by the local law enforcement
  • What are you doing? Stop working. I overheard some of the other camp members saying that a whole platoon of camp workers are travelling to Ottawa because of our living conditions and pay.
  • Really? I heard the same thing too! How 'bout lets all rally up and overthrow them? Lets all meet up in the town square tomorrow at noon.
