When you are thinking of a number you want to make sure that it is achievable and that you can do it. You want it to be high enough so you are motivated, but not too high so that is doesn't discourage you. R is for relevant. You want the goal to be relevant to you. This means that if it is important it is more relevant to you. The more important it is the more motivated you are. Last, but not least, is T. T is for time-bound.
