- Nick lists all of the people who attended Gatsby's parties that summer, a roll call of the nation's most wealthy and powerful people. He then describes a trip that he took to New York with Gatsby to eat lunch.
- Falling action:
- Tell me more about your past life.
- The rising action is Gatsby wanting to meet Daisy but he believed she would reject him and not to agree to meet him. Gatsby reached out to Jordan to make him convince Nick to invite Daisy for a tea party and invite Gatsby as well so they can meet.
- Resolution:
- The past is impossible to repeat.
- No, I will return everything to the way it was before.
- The climax starts as Gatsby meets Daisy at Nick's house, finally after 5 years of Gatsby dreaming about this re-union; he finally gets to have it. Everything he has done has been –in some sense- tied to his pursuit of Daisy.
- Conflict and Solution
- The reporters interview Gatsby and this made Nick wonder about Gatsby's real past, which started with Gatsby being poor and not being able to pay his college tuition fees so he dropped out of college, and then he started working for a wealthy guy named Dan Cody, and then he changes his name and started chasing wealth.
- After the party, Gatsby is depressed. He suspects that Daisy neither enjoyed the party nor understands the depth of his feelings for her. Nick reminds him that the past is impossible to repeat, but Gatsby disagrees. He says he will return everything to the way it was before.
- Gatsby faced a clear internal conflict when he struggled by staying away from Daisy his love for five years.And the solution was that finally after 5 years of Gatsby trying and attempting to meet Daisy again, he finally doeswith the help of Nick.
