- This expedition is significant because it showed America the benefits of having the port of New Orleans which is important because it helped with trade. This is significant for the French because they lose the port of New Orleans which is a major trading port.
- The Oregon Trail (1846)
- American settlers on the Oregon Trail migrating to the Oregon Country .
- The Trail of Tears was significant for the 5 civilized tribes because many of the citizens were killed. This was a good thing for the US because it pushed the tribes out of the land, they wanted but the US then wanted to move more west and this trail didn't really solve anything, it only solved that thetribes were out of the southeast.
- The treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo (1848)
- Santa Anna signing the treaty so that the Texas border would be at the Rio Grande.
- Native Americans being forced to migrate from the southeast to Oklahoma in 1837.
- The Alamo was a very important battle for Santa Anna and his army because they lost six-hundred men which is important because they needed those men to continue to conquer the Tejanos. The Texans however only lost 187 men but this battle gave the Texans a wave of courage that is important because they knew that they were going up against a very good army.
- The massacre of Wounded Knee(1890)
- American's massacring the Sioux tribe
- The Oregon Trail is when many settlers from America were coming over to the Oregon country to settle there which was important because it showed new settlers the good benefits of the Oregon Country like gold. This is significant for the tribes because it was just more Americans trying to take their land which is important because it developed bad habits like wars between them.
- The signing of the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo let America explore more territory that would have good farm land as well as good mountains. This is significant for Mexico because now they're in debt from the war and they lost a lot of land that they wanted to go more north in which is significant because they will have to tax their citizens that will develop worst relationships.
- This massacre of Wounded Knee is significant for the Sioux tribe because it killed many of the tribes’ citizens and basically ended the war between Sioux tribe and the Americans. This is significant for the Americans because it meant that they won the war over the tribes.
