  • How Bandura Sees Me
  • Oh no! I got a coffee stain on my shirt. Everyone is going to stare as me now.
  • How Jung Sees Me
  • Mom: We should go bowling tonight, that would be fun!
  • Me (thoughts): I wonder what we will be doing tonight?
  • How Rogers Sees Me
  • I want to do good in school so I can fulfill my dreams.
  • One of Bandura's beliefs was of the spotlight effect. Assuming that people have their attention set on you when they actually may not be. If we have something on our shirt we believe that people are looking at us because of the stain, but in reality people are not looking at us at all.
  • How Eysenck Sees Me
  • Our baby is very cheerful and active.
  • Maybe she is an extravert.
  • Jung was a proponent of synchronicity. Synchronicity is meaningful coincidences or chance events have meaning. Another example of this would be thinking of a friend and then getting a call from them.
  • How Adler Sees Me
  • You need to clean your room. Mom and dad expect you to have a spotless room like mine.
  • Carl Rogers studied the topic of actualizing tendency, developing our potential to the fullest extent. We are all trying to live up to be our ideal self, the self each person wants to be.
  • How Horney Sees Me
  • I think I am just going to give up on love and get 5 cats.
  • Sybil Eysenck studied two primary dimensions to makeup personality, extraverted vs introverted. The difference between the two is that people who are extroverted are sociable, lively people who draw their energy from the outer world (family/friends). People who are introverted are more reserved and thoughtful people who draw their energy from the inner world (hobbies). This can be detected at a young age.
  • Alfred Adler was a Neo-Freudian who believed that main factors influencing a child's development were sibling order. As shown in the cartoon, the oldest sibling is telling the middle sibling to clean his room. Oldest siblings are known as the 'perfect' child who always follows the rules, meanwhile the middle child normally feels misunderstood.
  • Karen Horney studied how we most feel helpless, anxious and lost around the issue of getting enough love. In this example the character is dealing with this issue with withdrawal by moving away from people.
