This is the continental shelf. *Squeak* It is the area where we swim.
Let's talk about the ocean floor. The ocean is a giant basin called the ocean basin.
The slope next to me is similar to the ocean floor. *Woof*
The yellow arrow points to the continental rise. The white arrow points to the continental slope.
This is the crest of a wave.
If this area was completely submerged underwater, I would be standing on the abyssal plain and that volcano would be a seamount.
These mountains are kind of like the rift zone because they have valleys and seamounts,
If this was all underwater, it would be a trench. *Chirp*
And this is the trough! *Meow*
