- There were many causes of the Crusades attack. The Christians wanted to get back their holy land.

- The Emperor went to Pope Urban lll and he said the first Crusade began. The Crusaders went to get the Muslims out of the holy land of Jerusalem. They didn't like that the Muslims had their Holy land.

- Did you hear about the first Crusade beginning.
- Some of the main events include a threat from The Seljuks, Pope Urban lll and his people got together a Crusade to take out Muslims to reclaim Jerusalem. The knights wore/had red crosses on flags and their shields to represent their mission.

- During the first Crusade they surrounded the city wall of Jerusalem and the Jews surrendered. The Crusaders took over Jerusalem. In the second crusade the Muslims came together and fought, it ended in failure for the Crusaders. Richard l led the third crusade to take over Jerusalem, he knew that they were not strong enough. But in 1192, the Christian and Muslim leaders signed a peace treaty so that Christians could still visit the holy land.

- The Crusaders did fail their mission but they unintentionally allowed more knowledge of other places and increased trade.

- There were many changes to the way the Christians lived after the Crusades. There were economic changes and taxes. They learned and traded foods and clothing. Merchants profited from all of the new goods. This also benefited the Muslims, the Muslim merchants got very wealthy from trading with the Christians and they put the money towards new buildings.
