- On Christmas eve Washington and his troops started crossing the Delaware river. It was very cold and many people didn't make it because of starvation and cold.
- The Stamp Act (1765)
- The protesters, who called themselves Patriots, were protesting the occupation of their city by British troops, who were sent to Boston in 1768 to enforce unpopular taxation.
- Declaration of Independence(1776)
- The Intolerable Acts were laws passed by the British Parliament in 1774 after the Boston Tea Party. The laws were meant to punish the Massachusetts colonists.
- The stamp act was when colonists had to pay their taxes on printed paper and the soldiers would stamp them with a big stamp.
- The Declaration of Independence was written by Thomas Jefferson and are the rules of our country. It explains why the colonies should break away from Britain and it says that people have rights that cannot be taken away.
