- Oh the Greek Civilization? Well it started with these two civilizations; the Minoan and Mycenaean Civilizations.

- Minoan Civilization started around 2000 BC on the island of Crete and over the next 600 years spread to other islands in the Aegean.
- In this civilization, there are a lot of island based cities that emerged. Knossos is the largest known Minoan center. Another major site was located on the island of Thera (modern Santoríni) and included the city of Akrotíri.
- Mycenaean civilization on the other hand is the opposite of Minoan Civilization. Mycenaean Civilization arose around 1600 BC on the Peloponnese, the southern section of the Greek mainland. This civilization is composed of small kingdoms and cities where Mycenae is the largest one.
- Minoan Civilization is defined as a peaceful civilization whereas Mycenaean Civilization are more into wars and invading nearby cities and territories.
- Ah! I see ma’am. I also learned that Minoans has the symbol of bull and Mycenaean is for lion, is it right ma’am?
