  • Established goals is "what do students need to learn and be able to do?"
  • Can anyone define stage one of UbD?
  • Students will be able to is "what will students know and be able to do by the end of the unit?" For example like different types of poetry.
  • Students will know is "what understandings are desired about the big ideas of the unit?" and "what question(s) will guide inquiry and point toward the big ideas and transfer goals of the unit?"
  • Determine Assessment Evidence/Feedback & Assessment
  • Other evidence is "how will we know if they learned it?" Also, what other evidence will be collected? Would it be informal assessments, further extensions, etc.?
  • Performance tasks is "how will we know if they learned it?" Here is where you develop a scenario for the activity or project. Also, develop a guide for the students on what to do.
