- Sounds like imperialism to me. how can they just decide to invade these African nations without the African nations being there to represent themselves?
- Going on inside right now is the Berlin conference. Britain, Germany, Russia, France and others are choosing who gets to invade which African nation.
- So they think they can just take their land because they are "the superior race"? Those Europeans, are such nationalists!
- Well, they cant. this is a perfect example of social Darwinism. that is the racist idea that the lighter the skin color, the smarter you are. The Europeans consider them selves superior to the African nations. This can also be called nationalism when someone has a dangerous amount of pride in their countrey.
- So not only are they planning to take their land, but also their natural recourses and their culture? Cant say I'm surprised. These capitalists have been exploiting anything and anyone they can ever since they found out what a piece of coal can do.
- The men inside that are apart of this conference are trying to justify it by saying its a civilizing mission. They think they are helping by attempting to modernize, westernize, and facilitate for their own industrialized profit. They do this by sending mass military personal to their land.
