- What's Happening? They British are explaining how they are in debt and how are they are going to start taxing the American colonists
- We are in very bad debt so we are going to have to start taxing you on things
- WHAT??
- What's Happening? The British decided the best way to tax the American colonist was to charge them whenever paper was printed. This can include newspapers, playing cards, and even legal documents
- American Colonist: This is not fair! You are taxing us without representation
- Here is your receipt. For now on you will be charged taxes for every paper printed
- What's Happening? The British decided that charging them for paper was not enough so in 1767 they decided to tax them for glass, tea, lead and paint
- Why are we now getting taxed for tea????
- What's happening? Tension between the American Colonist rose because of how much they were being charged and on March 5, 1770 it lead to the Boston massecure.
- What's Happening? The American colonist were so frustrated about this they boycotted tea.

- What's Happening? On May 1773 the Tea Act was passed by the British Parliament. Which allowed the British to sell tea for a cheaper piece but still continue to tax the American Colonists
- The Tea act has been passed!
