- In Ancient China they had a problem with there things they wrote on. They had silk which was too expensive to everyday use and bamboo which was to heavy to transport. Cai Lun one day had found a Mulberry tree and the rest is history.
- Cai Lun collected the bark off of the tree and brought it back to his workshop. He thought the bark could be a good paper but it wasn’t fully in form yet. He grounded the bark into a sheet shape to create the paper. Lei-Yang and Ts’ai Lun later came up with a more advanced way to make more quaility paper, by adding hemp rags and old fishing net to the bark sheet.
- Lun’s invention has affected society because the perfect paper was founded because it was cheaper than silk but easier to transport than bamboo. Neighboring countries of China were so intrigued by paper that it became a main vision of trade, China eventually got a Silk Road from paper. It was also spread around to many schools so that the children can become more creative and better writers.
