- In a Market Economy, buyers and sellers are allowed to trade freely. The government usually has limited power in this form of economy, it usually just regulates laws. Two benefits to this system are that since businesses are always starting, there is full employment and they are hardly regulated, promoting the principle of laissez-faire. Two drawbacks are it is very competitive so making a profit can be difficult as well as patents make it hard to make brand new products.
- I say we hold profits on rubber ducks steady and transition into rubber crocodiles!
- In a Command Economy, the leader, usually a king or pharaoh decides what resources would be dedicated to. Two benefits are that it was economically stable because all power went to the ruler and it caused all households to be employed, as everyone had to work on whatever project the leader decided. Two drawbacks are there were no profit motives as the wealth belonged to the leader as well as the economic system wasn't good because no one gains wealth.
