  • EXPOSITION
  • RISING ACTION
  • CLIMAX
  • The story started during a wedding ceremony in the Philippines' Mountain View, where dancing is a customary component of the event. On the other side, the bridegroom, Awiyao, made the decision to see his first wife Lumnay at home.
  • FALLING ACTION
  • Awiyao tried to talk to Lumyan as the other tribe members danced, and they shared how nice they were to one another but that they needed to follow the tribe's tradition that a man must have a child, which they found difficult, and the cause of their separation. Awiyao offers Lumnay numerous things, including a house and fields, while he comforts her, but Lumnay says she has no use for them and begs him to stay.
  • DENOUEMENT
  • Lumnay attempts once again to persuade Awiyao to stay with her. She also revealed to Awiyao that she took all the necessary measures to satisfy Kabunyan in order to give them a child. Until another tribal member called Awiyao to let him know he needs to return to the wedding. Awiyao gave the beads to Lumnay as she decision to ask them from him, and then Awiyao left to attend the wedding.
  • END
  • Due to her continued love for Awiyao, Lumnay attempted to disrupt the wedding out of rage and anguish. Awiyao is hers, and no unwritten law can alter that, and she will prove it. However, Lumnay turned around and ran away, where she go to a mountain overlooking the wedding's fires and dancers, and she also recognized how her life had changed.
  • Lumnay finally vented her resentment, anger, and pain at the mountain while recalling how she and Awiyao had been in love with one another from the start. She considered how satisfied and joyful they were. And how quickly they made the decision to wed because of love to one another. But suddenly everything had changed, and she screamed in despair.
  • A few more weeks, a few more months, a few more harvests---what did it matter? She would be holding the bean flowers, soft in the texture, silken almost, but moist where the dew got into them, silver to look at, silver on the light blue, blooming whiteness, when the morning comes. The stretching of the bean pods full length from the hearts of the wilting petals would go on.
