  • It's going to be a blast!!
  • WELCOME TO SCIENCE CLASS! Today's lesson is on the star life cycle of a massive star.
  • Loos, 5th peroid
  • Yup! We're going to teach from a little nebula, to a neutron star! It's truly amazing.
  • Now let's start! The star begins as a nebula. A nebula is a cloud of dust, gas, etc. Hydrogen begins to clump together which starts everything.
  • The nebula begins to glow, then the protostar is born! The next step is nuclear fusion. This is where hydrogen atoms combine and creates lots of energy!
  • Wow, that was a LOT to take in. Want to go grab some snacks for a little break?
  • The star then becomes a high mass sequence star, but it gets bigger! Once all the hydrogen is gone, the star becomes super duper heavy! Once all the fuel is burned out, it will become a super giant. Iron then sinks all down to the core; then BOOM! The star becomes a beautiful supernova.

  • Yum, this food is delicious! Good idea picking the starry buffet!
  • yeah sure! Just let me get seconds real quick!!
  • Yeah, it's pretty good! Want to go in 5 min?
  • After the big explosion, comes the sad part. The ending of the star's life...it can either turn into a neutron star or a black hole whether or not the core survives.
  • Woah, space is awesome!
  • A neutron star is formed when the core is too heavy, it cannot support itself anymore so it collapses.
  • Yup! Now let's get back to stars!
  • This whole journey was a real handful, but it was one of the best trips I've been on yet!
  • One more question. How do we get home!?!?!?!
