- Hi Naisha! What happen? Oh no problem. I can tell you which type of cultivation is the best to do.
- Shifting Cultivation is a primitive method of farming practiced in dense forests. In this process they clear a patch of forested land by cutting and burning trees.It is also known as slash and burn agriculture. It is done on a clear land. mostly tuber crops like tapoica are grown with millets and maize. After three or four years the soil gets leached or covered by weeds and becomes infertile. The people then shift to other part of land.
- On the other hand, Intensive agriculture is practiced in densely populated regions of the world, mainly in south and south East Asia. The land holdings are usually small and farming is intensive using a large amount of labour. Simple tools can be used. Farmers grow 2 or 3 crops annually with irrigation and chemical fertilizers or manure. Major crops that can be grown are rice, wheat and cotton.
- So according to that, I think Intesive will be better because we are in East Asia which is a densely populated area. This can also be done by using simple tools and with this method we can grow rice, wheat and cotton which are very important crops. While shifting leads to deforestation and soil erosion which is not a healthy desicion and should be prevented.
