The British decided to make a treaty with the Cherokee so they stopped trading with the French. The Cherokee thought this was an alliance. But the British thought they now ruled over the Cherokee.

The Cherokee was happy to have an alliance with the British. The British still thought they ruled over the Cherokee. This eventually cause problems.

There was 30 years of peace between the Cherokee and the British. The Cherokee stopped trading with the French. The British left them alone until the French and Indian war.
The Cherokee thought them and the British had an alliance. So they expected protection during the French and Indian war. The British never protected them, so tensions rises.
The Cherokee decided to take the British's horses. This was because they had no protection during the war. The British got mad and declared war at them.
The war lasted three years. The British won. This resulted in many Cherokee deaths.
